  • Early Morning Session (8:00 AM to 10:00 AM)
  • Late Morning Session (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM)

Grade Level: Incoming 6th, 7th, 8th

Course description:

  • Unlock the magic of the stage and dive into the captivating world of theatre with our comprehensive course designed specifically for middle school-aged students. “Exploring Theatre Arts” is an immersive and hands-on experience that introduces students to various aspects of theatre in a professional and supportive environment.
    • Script Analysis:
      • Learn the art of script analysis by exploring the nuances of symbolism, plot development, and character perspectives.
      • Develop critical thinking skills through in-depth discussions on the thematic elements of selected scripts.
    • Set Design:
      • Gain practical knowledge of set design principles, including spatial awareness, functionality, and visual storytelling.
      • Engage in hands-on activities to design and create miniature sets for selected scenes.
    • Costume Design:
      • Explore the role of costumes in conveying character traits, historical periods, and symbolism within a production.
      • Design costume pieces that bring characters to life on stage.
    • Directing Two-Person Scenes:
      • Learn the fundamentals of directing, including blocking, character motivation, and collaboration.
      • Collaborate with peers to direct and perform in two-person scenes, putting theory into practice.
    • Collaborative Creativity:
      • Foster teamwork and communication skills by working on group projects, combining talents to bring a unified vision to the stage.
      • Participate in brainstorming sessions and group discussions to enhance creativity and problem-solving skills
