Each year, all of RBUSD participates in one of our favorite community events of the entire year – the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. The Skechers Friendship Walk is an incredible event that raises money for children with special needs and public education.

Every South Bay Education Foundation who participates in the walk receives a grant from Skechers tied to ranking based on total walker numbers for their individual School District.

RBEF grants back a portion of the funds received by Skechers to RBUSD which is then allocated to each school site based on their individual school site total walker numbers. These unrestricted funds have led to a direct impact at every school site in our Redondo Beach Unified School District over the 13 years we’ve participated in the walk.

In 2024, RBEF is thrilled to announce that we had over 3486 walkers participating in the Skechers Friendship Walk and they helped us raise an incredible $264,191 to support our RBUSD schools and students.
